Relationships (Mutualism, Competition and Love)

On my way to school one morning,  I got to passed by the oval where luscious green weeds are grown abound. And so it is only logical if cows were allowed to graze on its fine course. I observed some interesting happenings on the field.

Below is a picture of a cow and a heron bird locally known as the "tagak". I was a 6th grader when my teacher tackled a topic on our Science subject about ecosystems and symbiosis that exist between organisms.
The picture depicts a relationship called "mutualism". It is because the cow had fleas which are pest to him but serves as a delicious feast to the bird. And so each one benefit from the other. I observed that the cow did not mind the presence of the bird. The bird, despite of its small size is not scared of the big cow. And so they live happily.

Mutual relationship is when both benefit from the other
Another interesting picture is the "competition" (i think, they were playing though) between the two calves. They are so cute that one can easily adore them. Anyway, I learned from my teacher that competition is where one organism over powers the other due to limited resources or a need. Well, I wonder if what is a "need" this two calves were fighting for? Is it strength? What do you think? If they are not after a "need", then maybe they were just playing around, enjoying the vigor God have provided them.
Competition of the two calves or just playing around?

These relationship do exist on humans too, of course! And each of us, may experienced these two types.

On personal note, mutualism is not equal to love. Because love is not just about give and take relationship but its more on the giving part. The irony of it is that, the more you give, the more you receive, which is a good thing. No way can accountants balance love accounts. In love, one always hope for the best of the other, for the benefit of the other. You try your best to offer the best, not only the good because true love grows in knowledge. When we love then truly, we do it passionately, enthusiastically and excitedly. We do it with passion and it is growing.

There, I said it. That is my view of love, of course, influenced by God's brand of loving.
               How about you?
